A FRIEND WHO CARES

Stop trying to fix others.

Instead, love them where they are.

Radiate presence in their presence.

Sing 'Hallelujah' to their wounds.

Then, held in your tender embrace,

they may feel healed, even through their pain.

Even if they never ‘heal’,

they are healed, for a moment.

We are all waiting

to be touched by God.

Or by a friend who cares.

(Which is the same thing, really.)

Love is the greatest medicine

of all.
