Romance of a Thousand Moons

Romance of a Thousand Moons

- A spontaneous & playful incantation,

Lucy Hinton, 2008

May the romance of a thousand moons

Hold our love in this woody womb

and feed our hearts with breast and milk

and join our hands with spiders silk

Sweet friendship-love come bless our dreams

(and more besides if it may be)

for all our days until we reach

the endless sands of the golden beach

Where sea grass ripples in a salty breeze

Under the shade of the flirting trees

The shore whereon all mortals part

And step forth alone with trembling heart

In faith perhaps we’ll meet once more

As ghosts of those who’ve gone before

I’ll find you where the wild rose blooms

With the romance of a thousand moons
